The National Kiwi Hui
The Muriwai team recently attended the National Kiwi Hui, hosted by Save the Kiwi and the Department of Conservation. It was an inspiring opportunity to learn from national leaders working to restore our treasured kiwi bird to abundance.
While kiwi numbers have stabilised in some areas, we learned they remain conservation-dependent, relying on continued protection from introduced predators to survive.
We’re just at the beginning of our own journey — working toward the vision of returning kiwi to Muriwai. There’s a lot to do to create a safe habitat viable for potential reintroduction.
If you’re interested in helping make that vision a reality, we’d love to hear from you.
